The next day morning getting up was even more painful with the need to catch a train to Firenze S.M.N. We lost concentration and almost ended up missing the train but a last minute water taxi helped us make up time and we did catch the train at the end.
The part of the train journey from Bologna to Firenze SMN was mostly under a tunnel which was quite surprising
We took Trenitalia FrecciaRossa 9405 which had Napoli C.LE as it’s last stop
We went straight to the hotel and checked in our luggage.
Florence was too quick and a very short stop. We stopped by a pizzeria with a carousel (name?) and had an amazing lunch in that square. Vidya ate an entire plate of Penne Pesto Pasta. From there we walked to the dome and it was an amazing building and we had a lot of awe for the wonderful church. Next, We went to the Uffizi Gallery next, but it wasn't fun due to the sheer exhaustion for everyone. Finally, even dinner was at a random place and not memorable.
The next day, we took it slow and woke up late. We went up the tower of the hotel we were staying in for the best view of the dome. Then, we went to Ponte Vecchio and it was a nice walk, although we wished we had more time to shop there.
The stop over at Michelangelo museum wasn’t fun either and overall Florence wasn’t a good stop.
